Drawing inspiration from renowned acting teacher Uta Hagen, students will explore truthful, grounded performance through scene study, character development, improvisation, and on-camera technique. Each ses sion is tailored to meet you where you are—challenging experienced actors while giving newcomers the tools they need to succeed. Through guided exercises, partner work, and personalized feedback, you’ll strengthen your instincts, expand your range, and develop a deeper understanding of the acting process.

  • Expert Guidance: This summer, we are launching an exciting new intensive class that blends commercial technique, improvisation, and voiceover into one dynamic experience. Designed for actors who want to become more versatile and marketable, the class focuses on building confidence on camera, sharpening spontaneity through improv, and developing strong vocal performance skills for voiceover work. Students will train in a fast-paced, supportive environment that mirrors real industry demands, leaving them better prepared for auditions and professional opportunities across multiple areas of acting.

What to Expect:

 

A week-long intensive is designed to be high-energy and immersive.

 

Here is what a week of training looks like:

 

  • On-Camera Fundamentals: Daily sessions focus on the technical side of film and TV, including understanding set etiquette, professional behavior, and learning to stay focused in front of the lens.

  • Scene Study & Improvisation: Students work through new scripts and "quick-thinking" improv games to build spontaneity and help them connect authentically with scene partners.

  • Audition Technique: Practical training on how to break down a script and master the "taped audition," which is essential for young actors looking to work in the industry.

  • Professional Feedback: Throughout the week, students receive "constructive criticism and redirects" from to help them sharpen their craft and deliver more natural, truthful performances.

MAKING A MOVIE CAMP

(Ages 10-16)

What to Expect:

 

At Movie Making Camp, students don't just watch the magic—they create it. We skip the writer's block and dive straight into production, using an original script written specifically for this camp by a talented TAH screenwriting student. With a professional script in hand, campers will focus on bringing the story to life from every angle of the industry.

 

  • Hands-on Learning: Every camper gets a turn behind the camera and in front of it.

  • Collaborative Spirit: We emphasize that a movie is only as good as the team making it!

  • Final Screening: Final copies will be sent to parents and footage may be used for demo reels.

 

 

Warning: Enrolling your child in Movie Making Camp may lead to dramatic reenactments at the dinner table, requests for a personal trailer, and an advanced understanding of why the 'lighting just isn't right' in the living room.

This class focuses on using the basics of Uta Hagen's method of acting. Actor's begin to learn her technique and how to start applying it to their own craft.

This class teaches how to audition professionally, build real on-camera confidence, and understand what casting directors are actually looking for.  To be truly marketable in the commercial world, specific commercial training is essential, and this class provides a strong, supportive environment to that training.

If you don't know how to Improvise, you're missing out on a major component of working in front of the camera. You must learn to live, moment to moment, with lines or without them. More directors are incorporating improvisation into their director session auditions and their work on set- and the only way to learn how to practice. Improvisation also builds confidence for actors to make bold decisions in their audition tapes as well as their commercial auditions!​

Dallas Local Agent Showcase 

Winter Showcase:  Must be a current registered student enrolled in a scene study class by October 1, 2025 to be eligible for the December 6, 2025 at 12:00pm CST Local Agency Showcase held at TAH.

 

Spring Showcase:  Must be a current registered student enrolled in a scene study class by March 1, 2026 to be eligible for the May (day TBD) 2026 Local Agency Showcase.

 

LA/NY Agent & Manager Showcase

Prerequisites: To be eligible, actors must be consistently enrolled in a scene study class for a minimum of six consecutive months. Final approval is required and will be granted at Lauren’s discretion.

Please note: Enrollment must be active and ongoing for the full six-month period. This is based on the date you start classes, not the date you enrolled for the class. i.e. "I enrolled for a class that starts August 20 but I signed up for the class July 15."  To be clear, the LA Showcase will only be available for those students who began their classes this Summer 2025 or returning students who began their classes at minimum in Spring 2025.
